In this Abyss I will Fight on, Forever takes inspiration from virtual realities created in games where the characters’ fate and objectives are pre-destined to out survive one another. In this piece, the viewers assume the perspective of a character who is challenging his/her destiny and environment metaphorically by continuously firing shots into the deep and immeasurable digital space. Although this retaliation promises no change or victory over the space, the act itself expresses a mindset that is heroic and fearless. This in-game reality that our virtual hero is struggling against bears resemblance to the actual human condition, in which purpose, value, and objective are predetermined by the environment one finds themself in.
